It’s a colour that certainly stands out but in a good way and it really suits the car.

When I had one to clean it got complements from everyone, young or old, male or female.

Lovely car. Not my sort of thing but really grew on me.

I agree. Love that color to bits. And the arches and body kit are just so right

I think the closest to that colour was the VW Scirocco in Viper Green Metallic.

Followed by the Skoda Octavia and Fabia.

I love seeing those ‘Rocs around as well. Curiously they’re 2 cars our American friends never got.

It doesn’t look like much, but I’m pretty sure the VE came in a green that popped in the right light.

Ye’, the metallic greens look good.

I think what worked for the Ford RS is that the colour was more fluorescent than anything else.

I'd love to see that colour come back, as it'd look great on the new Focus RS coming out in the next year.

Oh, love the orange on those old XR5 Turbos. ST to you maybe?

That was a cool color. I guess that gen of Focus lent itself well to metallics like that

We never got the Focus as the XR5, just ST as you say.

I think that’s when the ST badge took over from the XR badges of the Fiesta XR2, Escort XR3 and Sierra XR4.

The Ford Focus XR5 2010 was the Ford Focus Mk2.5 ST here.

Curious. Those STs are our XR5s, that’s for sure. The rims tell all. But we never got a 3-door! That’s bad-ass.

I think our Fiestas were always ST since they joined our market late, and the later Focus’ were ST as well. We never got Sierra or Escort XR, in fact our XR5 was named I believe to tie in with the Falcon XR6 and XR8, a long running nameplate in Aus. Now that it’s dead, they’re STs.

The 3 door only went up until the Mk3 though unfortunately.

Ye’, I noticed you guys and gals got the XR6 and XR8. I was wondering if it was a continuation of the XR2, XR3 and XR4. But if you never got the 2, 3 and 4. That makes me curious as to why you even got the XR5, XR6 and XR8.

It’s a funny old world.

When did you get the Fiestas then? I would of thought Australasia would of got the Fiesta and the Escort, though I imagine the Sierra would of been where the Falcon comes in.

There was a massive Fiesta and Escort culture growing up in the U.K. and Europe.

It was similar to your Ford V GM/Holden,

we had Ford V Vauxhall/Opel

F ord Fiesta V Vauxhall Nova,

Ford Escort V Vauxhall Astra,

Very sad, still cool!

I don’t really know where that came from. But fast Falcons have been called XR here forever. It was really just a Falcon thing mostly, as that was all the stupid local manufacturers could ever figure out how to sell. Though we did once have a Ford Capri XR2 in the 90s.

Actually I lie. The earlier strip y Fiesta was called the XR4 here. It was the one after this that was called ST.

Kinja'd!!!

I’d say we didn’t have that culture as big Australia with its big roads was all about big cars. You better believe my mum had nothing but Commodores in my childhood.
